Public Passport, Sharing, and Animal Transfer Terms

Effective Date: June 15, 2026

Last Updated: June 15, 2026

These Public Passport, Sharing, and Animal Transfer Terms ("Passport Terms") apply to HabitatOS passport features, public share links, QR codes, PDF exports, transfer workflows, invite links, ownership-history features, and related sharing tools. These Passport Terms are part of the HabitatOS Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Passport Features

HabitatOS may allow users to create, maintain, share, export, or transfer reptile passport records. Passport records may include animal profile information, species, morph, origin, breeder/source details, care history summaries, record completeness scores, passport scores, score trends, photos, ownership or transfer history, public slugs, public share tokens, QR codes, PDF exports, and related metadata.

Passport features are intended as recordkeeping, organization, and sharing tools only. They are not certificates of health, ownership guarantees, veterinary records, legal title documents, breeding guarantees, regulatory documents, or proof of lawful possession.

2. User Responsibility for Shared Records

You are responsible for reviewing any information before you share, publish, export, transfer, or provide it to another person.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to share the animal information, photos, breeder/source details, transfer notes, recipient information, and other content you include in a passport, PDF, public link, QR code, invite, or transfer.

You should not include confidential, private, misleading, unlawful, or sensitive information in a public passport or transfer unless you have the right to disclose it.

3. Public Links, Slugs, Tokens, and QR Codes

If you create a public passport link, public slug, public share token, QR code, or similar sharing method, anyone with access to that link, slug, token, or QR code may be able to view the associated information. You should treat share tokens and transfer tokens as sensitive. Do not publish or send them to people who should not have access.

Where the Service provides a revocation option, you may revoke or disable a public share link. However, revocation does not remove copies already downloaded, screenshotted, printed, forwarded, indexed, cached, or stored by others.

4. PDF Exports and Downloaded Copies

Passport PDFs, exports, screenshots, printed records, downloaded records, and shared files may exist outside HabitatOS after you create or send them.

HabitatOS cannot control how recipients use, store, copy, modify, rely on, or redistribute exported or downloaded passport records.

5. Transfer Workflows

HabitatOS may allow users to initiate, accept, decline, cancel, expire, or record animal passport transfers. Transfer workflows may process sender information, recipient email address, transfer token, transfer note, transfer status, initiated date, accepted or declined date, expiration date, ownership-effective date, transfer version, and related audit metadata.

A HabitatOS transfer record is a product recordkeeping feature. It does not independently establish legal ownership, lawful sale, lawful possession, veterinary fitness, shipping compliance, import/export compliance, breeder compliance, or compliance with any animal, wildlife, exotic species, municipal, state, federal, or international law.

6. Recipient Responsibility

If you receive a passport, transfer invitation, public link, or export, you are responsible for independently verifying any information that matters to your decision, including animal identity, ownership, source, condition, health, genetics, sex, age, breeding history, husbandry history, legal status, and transfer eligibility. You should not rely solely on HabitatOS passport records when buying, selling, adopting, breeding, shipping, receiving, or transferring an animal.

7. Breeders, Sellers, Buyers, and Keepers

HabitatOS does not broker, validate, guarantee, or supervise animal sales, transfers, shipping, breeding, adoption, or possession.

Users are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, permits, licenses, inspections, transport rules, animal welfare rules, endangered species restrictions, invasive species restrictions, import/export rules, and local ownership restrictions.

Users are also responsible for their own animal care, quarantine, veterinary review, recordkeeping, disclosures, and due diligence.

8. Accuracy and Completeness

Passport scores, care-event counts, completeness scores, summaries, transfer counts, trends, and related calculations may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or affected by missing data, sync conflicts, user-entered errors, deleted records, device issues, or product logic.

HabitatOS does not warrant that passport information is accurate, complete, current, authentic, tamper-proof, legally sufficient, or suitable for any transaction or legal purpose.

9. Privacy and Personal Information

Passport and transfer features may involve personal information, such as recipient email addresses, breeder/source names, user-entered notes, public links, transfer records, and ownership-history metadata. Do not include another person's personal information in a passport, public record, transfer note, or export unless you have permission or another lawful basis to do so.

Public passport links may expose information to anyone with access to the link or slug. Review shared records carefully before making them public.

10. Animal Health and Veterinary Disclaimer

Passport records, health-check logs, species information, care summaries, and transfer history are not veterinary advice and are not a substitute for professional veterinary review.

A passport does not guarantee that an animal is healthy, parasite-free, disease-free, correctly sexed, correctly identified, legally transferable, safe to breed, or suitable for any particular keeper, enclosure, or purpose. For health, quarantine, husbandry, breeding, transport, or emergency concerns, consult a qualified reptile veterinarian or other appropriate professional.

11. Suspensions and Misuse

We may suspend, restrict, remove, or disable passport, sharing, or transfer features if we reasonably believe they are being misused or create legal, privacy, security, animal-safety, fraud, or operational risk. Misuse may include fraudulent transfer claims, false ownership representations, unlawful animal sales, harassment, unauthorized publication of personal information, infringement, abuse of public links, or attempts to bypass access controls.

12. Deletion and Retention

Deleting a passport, disabling public sharing, deleting an account, or revoking a link may remove or restrict access to records controlled by HabitatOS. However, information already exported, copied, downloaded, screenshotted, printed, forwarded, cached, or stored by others may remain outside our control.

Certain transfer, audit, billing, security, or legal records may be retained or anonymized where necessary to preserve integrity, resolve disputes, comply with law, or protect users and the Service.

13. Changes to Passport Features

We may add, remove, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue passport, public sharing, PDF export, QR code, transfer, scoring, or ownership-history features at any time.
